The Documentary Hub brings together all of Porte Parole’s activity related to the development of the discipline of documentary theatre: from mentorship to education, training to research, artistic exploration and much more.

Its mission: to put decades of experience to work for the benefit of the community, inspiring individuals to engage in creative citizenship.

6 AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT

There are several components to the Documentary Hub:

Mentoring

Accompanying artists in their documentary theatre process. The Documentary Hub will see Porte Parole act as a springboard, providing support for upcoming projects both in the short and long-term.

Training

Meet the need for the development of documentary theatre skills including the basic principles, interview techniques, verbatim-based dramaturgy, etc.

Education

Offer introductory documentary theatre workshops in schools (from primary to university level), as well as in community settings.

Research

Innovate and develop new formats for documentary projects, from the stage, to digital or hybrid.

Studio and Rentals

Provide artists with basic digital equipment, as well as access to Porte Parole’s recording studio and technical team at a reduced price (or free of charge depending on the type of support) for the development of creative projects.

Media Library (to come)

In order to inform professionals and the public alike – a space where books, articles and works on documentary theatre will be gathered and archived.

Porte Parole is grateful to our donors for their support.
