Coup de chapeau Award 2022
Today, the Quebec Federation for Autism recognized our play Rose et la machine, in which author Maude Laurendeau describes her journey as the mother of an autistic child.
“With the play Rose et la machine, and the book of the same title, Maude Laurendeau shared with the public her personal story and that of Rose, her autistic daughter. First through the healthcare ‘machine’, then through the educational system, her journey is full of pitfalls, bureaucratic dead ends, professional missteps verging on absurdity, which often proves exhausting and stigmatizing.”
“Subtlely staged, the play conjures many specialists, played brilliantly by Julie Le Breton, to shed a light on Maude’s reality. She has given visibility to the journey of many families with an autistic child in Quebec, in a tangible and moving way.
“The major question at the heart of this story: how can (or should) our society evolve to make room for all forms of neurodiversity?”
Porte Parole is extremely proud to have created and produced such a necessary work! We can’t wait to go on Tour in 2023!
