In view of the positive audience response to the play, the Münchner Kammerspiele is currently offering virtual, live performances. The famous German institution had to suspend the indoor performances last November due to the pandemic.
The Assembly — Munich is based on the verbatim transcript of an unusual evening: invited by Porte Parole, four citizens with diametrically opposed ideas meet to talk about what divides them. They discuss German identity, inclusivity, racism against Arab immigrants and migrants, and fear that right wing nationalism might be on the rise again.
Much more than static video recordings, the Kammerspiele team offers a dynamic theatrical experience with several cameras that help recreate the intimate atmosphere of the meal and the conversations between the guests, now light now tense.
🇩🇪 Please note that the performances are in German with no subtitles.
