Helping new voices in documentary theatre take the stage
The Porte Parole Pitch invites artists to bring a compelling question, investigation, or true story to the stage.
Each year, a selection of documentary theatre projects receives development support from the Porte Parole team and experienced mentors. Over several months, participants sharpen the focus of their project, deepen their creative process, explore different dramaturgical approaches, and prepare a short public presentation of their work.
The program culminates in a live event, where each artist delivers a 10-minute pitch to an audience and jury. It’s a chance to discover new works at a pivotal stage in their development and to join a broader conversation around the questions and issues they bring to light.
